Individuals want to work at or attend schools where they feel welcomed, included, and respected. Organizations and schools talk about diversity (D), equity (E), and inclusion (I) in their mission and vision, but maybe they are doing something different in practice.
What feelings or thoughts come up for you when you hear the following words: discrimination, racism, bias, gender, cultural competence, privilege, power, or racism? Can you define these terms? Do you know how to address it when you see or experience one of these words? Are there spaces where DEI work is not happening but it should?
There is an OPPORTUNITY to create a space where these words and questions are addressed by KNOWING yourself, your culture, and your school/institution. For successful DEI work to happen, there must be a COMMITMENT to improving individual and collective skills. I once heard a presenter say, “You cannot heal what you won’t reveal.” SWIT wants to help you reveal, heal, and do the work to IMPLEMENT SUCCESSFUL DEI STRATEGY.
SWIT offers half or full-day engagement workshops on any of the following DEI subjects:
Navigating Career Entry, Pivot, or Change
Creating Inclusive & Welcoming Environments
TalentMagnet: Strategies for Recruiting and Retaining Talent
Addressing the Elephant and Ants in the Room: Having Difficult Conversations

Understanding and Addressing Racial Trauma or Whiteness in Education
